Preparing a Strong Sample Request

Bandage dresses and evening knits behave differently from most garments on set, so a little extra detail in your request helps us send pieces that photograph well and arrive ready to wear. Below are practical points that make the process smoother for stylists, editors and photographers alike.

Share sizing and fit details early

Bandage construction relies on tension: the bands are designed to shape and hold the body, which means fit is far less forgiving than with a draped or bias-cut dress. When you request samples, include the model's or talent's measurements (bust, waist, hips and height) rather than a single dress size. Our size guide explains how bandage sizing tends to run, and it is worth checking before you name a size, especially if you plan to shoot several looks on one person.

Tell us about the shoot

A short description of the story helps us suggest pieces that suit it. Useful details include:

  • The theme or mood of the editorial, and whether it is studio or location work
  • Lighting conditions, since high-shine and metallic knits read differently under flash
  • Colour palette or any shades to avoid
  • Whether the piece will be shown in motion, seated or in close-up detail

If you are working from a reference, our lookbook shows how silhouettes and colours have been styled, which can make it easier to point to the shapes you have in mind.

Handling and care on set

Knitted bandage fabric can snag on jewellery, zips, velcro and rough surfaces, and it should never be steamed at close range or ironed directly. Please keep samples on padded hangers or folded flat, avoid applying tape or pins to the bands, and keep make-up and self-tanner well away from light colours. Dressing talent over a protective hood helps keep necklines clean.

Returns and credits

Plan your return window when you submit the request so it fits your production schedule, and let us know the expected publication or air date so the credit can be noted. If your plans change, a quick update is always appreciated, as it allows the piece to go to the next request in line.
